Dartmouth Admits 13.2 Percent

Dartmouth received 16,536 applications this year, 2,361 more than the previous year.  2,190 applicants were admitted, for an admit rate of 13.2 percent this year, compared to 15.3 percent last year.

Of those admitted, 38.5 percent are valedictorians, and 11.3 percent are salutatorians.  The mean SAT scores for those admitted are 726 verbal, 731 math, and 726 writing.

403 of the admits are Asian American, 224 are African American, 216 are Latino, 82 are Native American, and 19 are multi-racial.  9 percent of the admits are international students.

Dartmouth received 1,397 early applications this year.  This represents an 8.7 percent increase over last year.
