Brown saw a 10 percent increase in the number of applicants, with a record-setting 16,908 applications. 2,463 applicants were admitted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 14.6 percent.

The number of African American applicants increased by 14 percent, while Asian-American and Latino applicants both increased by 6 percent. American Indian applications increased by 27 percent with 75 applicants. International applicants increased by 13 percent, with 1,657 applicants compared to 1,465 the previous year.

Brown had an early decision admittance rate of 28 percent.
